Kingston Athletics Club and Polytechnic Harriers, a South West London Athletics club were Presented Clubmark on Tuesday 30th August 2016 and there track at Kingsmeadow stadium in Kingston.
Julia Bailey, England Athletics Club and Coach Support Officer for South London was at hand to present the certificate to Ros Parkinson leading on the Clubmark for the club.
In a statement Kingston and Athletics Club and Polytechnic Harriers said "Everyone at K&P is delighted that we have received Clubmark. A lot of hard work has gone into making our application successful and this award highlights the positive progress we have made over the years towards being an even more inclusive and welcoming club than before. Combined with our excellent recent performances, this is the perfect end to the 2016 season."
Julia Bailey said, “It is a pleasure to present the award to Kingston Athletics Club and Polytechnic Harriers, especially after all the hard work I have seen the club put into Clubmark it is brilliant that they have been able to achieve this accreditation. It was fantastic to see so many coaches, committee members and Athletes’ attending the Clubmark presentation recognising what such achievement this is for the club. By having Clubmark in place this has enabled the club to ensure their structure and practices meet the needs of their members. I hope that they continue to build on the great work that they do and grow as a successful club”.
The Clubmark scheme is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.
